As part of the HEP “Imam žicu!” award ceremony, held at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Zagreb (FSB), we welcomed primary and secondary school students and their mentors to the Regional Centre of Excellence for Robotic Technologies (CRTA).
During their visit, the students had the opportunity to tour our laboratories and learn more about CRTA’s work, research infrastructure, and ongoing scientific and research projects. They were introduced to CRTA’s activities in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and medical robotics, as well as the application of advanced technologies in developing innovative solutions for various fields of science, industry, and medicine.
Special emphasis was placed on connecting scientific research with the practical application of technology. The students learned how scientific ideas are developed and put into practice through research projects, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation.
Among other initiatives, the students were introduced to the European project HMI2MARKET, which focuses on strengthening cooperation between higher education and industry, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, and promoting innovation. The project contributes to connecting academia and the business sector, creating new opportunities for knowledge transfer and the development of solutions that meet market needs.
The visit to CRTA provided an opportunity for students to gain first-hand insight into the latest research and technologies shaping the future, as well as to learn more about the opportunities offered by STEM fields. Such encounters play an important role in bringing science and technology closer to young people, encouraging curiosity, and fostering interest in future education and careers in technical and scientific fields.
We would like to thank the students and their mentors for visiting us and for their interest in CRTA’s work!
