CRTA researchers — Jurica Cvetić (INSPIRATION project), Janko Jurdana, and Luka Šiktar — recently participated in the Robotic Vision Summer School (RVSS) in Kioloi, New South Wales, Australia. RVSS is a leading international program for young researchers in the field of computer vision and robotics, which combines lectures by top experts, hands-on workshops, and competitions.
The event was organized by the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision at the Australian National University's (ANU) coastal campus. The program covered computer vision, robotics, deep learning (including mathematical foundations), SLAM/visual SLAM algorithms, and reinforcement learning. Participants gained hands-on experience through workshops and a competition, immediately applying what they learned in practice.
Our researchers had the opportunity to learn from world-renowned experts such as Peter Corke, Simon Lucey, Tom Drummond, and Dana Kulic, and found additional inspiration for their research in Feras Dayoub, Thierry Peynot, Sue Keay, and Richard Hartley. During the workshop and competition, they formed the team “Vroom Vroom” and won 3rd place, demonstrating creativity and expertise in solving challenges.
RVSS is an excellent opportunity to advance in computer vision, deep learning, SLAM, and reinforcement learning, as well as to connect with colleagues and researchers from around the world. The exchange of ideas and experiences fosters collaborations and opens up new possibilities for research projects.
We are proud of our researchers' achievements and the experiences that will shape their future scientific and professional careers, as well as inspire future generations.
