Zagreb Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Clinical Hospital Dubrava and their joint project, RONNA G4 (fourth generation) medical robot were awarded yesterday with the main award in the Best integration and innovation category as part of the famous international Hamlyn symposium on medical robotics organized by Imperial College London. Project RONNA, which is implemented under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Sc. Bojan Jerbić (FSB – Department of Robotics and Production System Automation) and Doc. Dr. Darkoa Chudya (Clinical Hospital Dubrava), was invited to present itself in addition to eight other projects from Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, the USA, Italy, Korea and Switzerland.
RONNA's R&D Team presented in London its latest robotic application in stereotactic neurosurgery based on artificial intelligence. In this exceptional competition, the international committee, composed of the world's leading scientists in the field of medical robotics, assessed that RONNA represents the best scientific and technological achievement in medical robotics in 2018. In this way, Croatia and the University of Zagreb are listed among the world's leading research and development centers in the field of medical robotics.
