Student field trip to Klimaoprema
On May 3, 2024, 4th and 5th year students of Mechatronics and Robotics and Autonomous Systems and Computer Intelligence visited the production plant of the Klimaoprema company in Nova Gradiška. This field visit gave them an insight into real processes and work in an industrial environment, providing a valuable addition to their theoretical knowledge.
The students were divided into two groups, which were guided through the plant by the head of the sector for the development of production technologies, Marko Smolec, mag. ing. mech. and Andrija Simić, mag. ing. mech. plant manager. Klimaoprema mainly markets its products on the market of Western Europe, while it exports its products to over 50 countries around the world. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to see the diversity of the company's products, including high-volume products such as fire dampers and the specific production of programs for clean rooms and recuperators.
Students had the opportunity to observe various manufacturing processes, including laminating, water jet cutting, sheet metal bending, laser cutting machines, punching machines, product assembly, robotic systems, and more. They were also able to see many systems developed within Klimaoprema, which is the area of competence of the team from the production technology development sector.
The visit showed a high level of organization in the production facility and the application of many organizational models. Also, students were able to take a deep "peek" into processes and technologies thanks to the manager's detailed explanations and the company's openness to educating young engineers. This field visit provided the students with useful experience from a real industrial environment and enabled them to better understand the applied technologies and processes in their field of study.
At the end of the visit, the students were offered the opportunity to do student internships and student jobs at the Klimaoprema. This opportunity further encourages collaboration between the company and educational institutions and provides students with practical experience in a real work environment.
