The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia published a publication in April 2025 entitled Croatia: The Robotics SectorThe publication provides an overview of the Croatian robotics sector and highlights key stakeholders, institutions and projects contributing to its development. The publication highlights the role of the Regional Center of Excellence for Robotic Technologies (CRTA), which is recognized as the leading research center in the field of robotics in the Republic of Croatia.
The publication is available in electronic form on the website:

Also, the publication was distributed to chambers of commerce and diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Croatia through the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
CRTA in the publication:
Innovation and research at the highest level
CRTA develops innovative technologies and fosters progress through multidisciplinary research, workshops, and collaborations with industrial and academic partners. Research spans areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, and medical robotics, with the goal of creating advanced technological solutions.
Education will bećI'm tired.hRobotics geek
As an integral part of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, CRTA actively participates in the education of future engineers. The university study program in Mechatronics and Robotics, launched in 2020, provides students with modern and competitive knowledge through practical work in high-tech laboratories. The curriculum covers areas from robotics and automation to cybernetics and smart traffic systems.
Advancedly equipped laboratories
CRTA has a space of 740 square meters, including three specialized laboratories:
- Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, focused on research into motor intelligence and humanoid robotics
- Autonomous Systems Laboratory, focused on human-robot interaction in industrial environments
- Medical robotics laboratory, equipped with a surgical theatre for preclinical testing of neurosurgical robots
Researchhprojects that shape the futurećness
CRTA is implementing a number of projects in which more than 70 researchers are currently engaged:
- INSIGHT – collaboration with BMW Group on the development of predictive models based on artificial intelligence for the production and recycling of battery cells
- MARINERO and ROBOCAMP – IRI projects focused on digital and green transition in tourism
- RESONANCE – a project of robotic ultrasound guidance in urology, funded by the Adris Foundation
- REMDOC – an innovative system for remote medical diagnostics and patient scanning
- INSPIRATION – a project to develop a non-invasive method of patient registration for robotic neurosurgery
- PRONOBIS and ANDROMEDA – robotic navigation and autonomous processing projects for medical applications, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan
Center of Excellence open for cooperation
CRTA is dedicated to the transfer of knowledge and innovation to industry. It provides resources, expertise and infrastructure for advanced research and encourages collaboration with industrial partners on the development of new technologies. Through technology transfer, it contributes to the commercialization of research results, the development of new products and the strengthening of economic competitiveness.
CRTA strives to provide top-notch conditions for scientific research and education, attract experts from all over Europe, and provide an outstanding environment for students who will shape the future of robotics.
