CRTA presented at Project Day
Following the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, on 14 November 2019, for the first time a "Project Day", where visitors could become more familiar with the wide range of projects currently being implemented at the FSB, was organized.
Among many projects, project CRTA, financed by the European Regional Development Fund in the amount of HRK 37,954,365.00, was also presented.
The main goal of the CRTA project is to establish a Regional Center of Excellence for Robotic Technologies as a reference center for research, development and educational activities in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence.
Activities are directed towards research and development of advanced robotic applications especially in industry and medicine, but also other areas of human activity where traditional automation and human work need to be replaced by adaptive and intelligent systems.
The main objective of the Center is to attract researchers and research institutions from a local region and Europe, thus increasing the scientific potential of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in this area. For the development of medical robotics, a real operating room that will allow preclinical tests to be conducted in real conditions will be built.
In addition to research in the aforementioned fields of robotics and artificial intelligence, the Center will also provide state-of-the-art conditions for education of students.
The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund
