Popularization of the STEM field and FSB at the final conference of the school of the future in Infobip

Popularization of the STEM field and FSB at the final conference of the school of the future in Infobip

FSB students from the study program Mechatronics and Robotics, together with a junior researcher from CRTA, Patrik Putanec, presented FSB, Mechatronics and Robotics and CRTA at an interactive stand in the Infobip space. The presentation was organized as part of the traditional final conference of schools of the future organized by Infobip and its partners, which was visited by more than 500 children from all over Croatia. The children had the opportunity to talk with our students and participate in the management of mobile robots and drones, as well as get to know advanced technologies through demonstrations and educational content.

One of the main attractions were two ASTRO (Autonomous System for Teaching Robotics) mobile robots, developed at CRTA for educational use. Children had the opportunity to learn how to control robots, and many were delighted by the simplicity and interactivity of control. Drones, controlled via an app on mobile devices, have also been extremely popular, especially among preschoolers. These drones are compact, stable and easy to control, which allowed children to learn the basics of drone control in a safe and fun way.

A robot climber, developed as part of the ASAP project (Autonomous system for inspecting and predicting the integrity of transport infrastructure) was also exhibited at the stand. We also presented 3D printers, which the children were fascinated by and showed an enviable knowledge of temperatures, materials and modeling processes.

Special attention was attracted by the humanoid robot Pepper (Pero), capable of following a red ball and reacting to the environment, which aroused the enthusiasm and interest of the audience, and Pepper provided visitors with an insight into the challenges and possibilities of robotics.

This event successfully presented the innovative projects and technologies that we are developing at FSB and CRTA, and stimulated the interest and curiosity of young people in the field of robotics and autonomous systems.

Thank you to all students for their participation: Petra Horvat, Laura Babarović, Matej Čok, Jan Hajsok, Matija Pongracic and Silvio Petrinjak.
