Intelligent data models for the production and recycling of battery cells
Intelligent data models for the production and recycling of battery articles The automotive industry is undergoing a significant transformation towards electromobility, with the high-voltage battery becoming a key component of electric vehicles. There are battery cells in a high-voltage battery. Newly developed cylinder members are used for the first time in BMW's "Neue Klasse" models. With this, the BMW Group achieves a technological breakthrough with clear improvements...
The goal of the INSIGHT project is to develop artificial intelligence-based models that will improve quality, reduce costs, and accelerate the production process through their application. Data collection takes place in three BMW Group competence centers: the Battery Cell Competence Center (BCCC), which focuses on research and development of new cell technologies; the Cell Manufacturing Competence Center (CMCC), where series production is tested on a pilot line; and the Battery Cell Recycling Competence Center (CRCC), which focuses on the recycling process of battery cells and is currently in the start-up phase. The main tasks of this collaborative project are data collection and preparation, the development of predictive models, and their automation and implementation in production.
